Festival Book Club

The Book Festival Committee is excited to include a Festival Book Club comprised of local book groups and readers from across our community in the 2020 New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane University. The goal of this interactive initiative is to bring readers together to discuss a common theme with special access to prominent authors, as well as encourage participation in festival events.

Our Festival Book Club selection will be announced in advance of the festival. Interested participants will be asked to read the selected book and register as an official member of the Festival Book Club.

Festival Book Club Perks:

  • During the festival, members will be invited to an exclusive coffee session with the author
  • Members will be able submit questions or comments for discussion during the author coffee session
  • Members will be given the opportunity to take a group photo with the author following the session
  • Members will receive a souvenir book plate signed by the author for their personal copy of the selected book

About the 2020 Book Selection

The Book Fest committee has selected Sarah M. Broom’s The Yellow House as this year’s official Festival Book Club selection. As a native New Orleanian and recent National Book Award winner, Sarah was an obvious choice for readers in our community.

As the 2020 Festival Book Club selection, Sarah will be highlighted in an exclusive Festival Book Club coffee session in addition to her confirmed festival discussion. Those details are as follows:
