Born in vibrant New Orleans, I am the proud wife of the late John T. Scott—my partner in life and love for 41 unforgettable years. Together, we raised five wonderful children and built a life rooted in faith, creativity, education, and family.
Teaching was my calling. I shaped young minds as an elementary school teacher, both in the classroom and at home. My own education began at Holy Ghost Elementary and Xavier Prep High School, culminating in a degree from Xavier University of Louisiana—where destiny introduced me to Scott.
Though art was not my formal field, life became my studio. Traveling alongside Scott to workshops and artist gatherings opened doors to endless learning. I explored indigo dyeing, batik, bookmaking, weaving, machine embroidery, and more. From childhood crochet to post-retirement ventures in painting, stained glass, and quilting, creativity has always been my quiet companion.
Writing has been another lifelong passion. Co-authoring Passing It On with Freddi W. Evans was a dream realized—a gift of memories for our children, grandchildren, and all who read “Passing It On”. It is my way of preserving stories, celebrating heritage, and sharing the beauty of a life well-lived.
