La June Montgomery Tabron is president and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan, one of the largest private foundations in the United States. Since joining the Kellogg Foundation in 1987, Tabron has risen to become the organization’s first woman and first African American chief executive, leading work to support thriving children, working families, and equitable communities.

 

In 2025, she published How We Heal, which explores how truth-telling and healing can bridge divides and strengthen communities and Our Differences Make Us Stronger, a children’s book about empathy and belonging.

 

An international thought leader, Tabron has spoken at events such as the Aspen Ideas Festival, the Clinton Global Initiative, the ESSENCE Festival of Culture, and the University of Oxford.

 

Currently, Tabron serves on the board of Kellanova and chairs the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Trust. She also serves on other boards, including Battle Creek Community Health Partners, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America-College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA).

 

Tabron holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She is a certified public accountant.
