Michael Clune is the author of the novel Pan (Penguin, 2025), and the memoirs White Out (second ed., McNally Editions, 2023) and Gamelife (FSG, 2015). His books have appeared on "best of the year" lists at The New Yorker, NPR, and elsewhere. Clune is also the author of several academic books, including most recently A Defense of Judgement (University of Chicago Press, 2021). His writing has appeared in Granta, The Atlantic, and Harper's, where he is a contributing editor. His work has been supported by fellowships from the Guggenheim, Mellon, and Baker Nord Foundations. Clune is currently a professor at the Chase Center at The Ohio State University. He lives in Chagrin Falls and in Columbus, Ohio.
