Chris Granger is an award-winning photojournalist based in New Orleans, where he has been a staff photographer for The Times-Picayune for more than 25 years. He was part of the team of Times-Picayune journalists whose work won two Pulitzer Prizes for coverage of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. Chris has spent most of his career documenting the highs and lows of life in Louisiana, from joyous Mardi Gras celebrations to tragic crime scenes to the BP Oil Spill. His photography has won top honors from the National Press Photographers Association, Pictures of the Year Photography Awards, the Associated Press Managing Editors Awards and many others, and his work has appeared in Travel & Leisure, Saveur, Food & Wine, Garden & Gun, Sunset, Southern Living, and many other publications. He has been the photographer for 10 books, including Chef Donald Link’s Real Cajun, which won the James Beard Foundation’s award for Best American Cookbook.
