John Kenney is a New York Times bestselling author best known for his witty poetry collections Love Poems for Married People, Love Poems for People with Children, and Love Poems for Anxious People. He is also the author of the novels Talk to Me and Truth in Advertising, the latter of which earned the Thurber Prize for American Humor.
Before turning to fiction and poetry full-time, Kenney spent over two decades as an advertising copywriter with agencies including Ogilvy, McGarry Bowen, and Publicis, where he developed campaigns for major brands such as American Express, Citi, Chevron, Heineken, and Cadillac. Since 1999, his work has also appeared regularly in The New Yorker.
