Democracy in Practice: Law, Activism & the American Story | Akhil Reed Amar + Keisha N. Blain Moderated by: John Avlon

This thought-provoking conversation brings together two of America’s most insightful public intellectuals — Akhil Reed Amar, Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University, and Keisha N. Blain, award-winning historian and Professor of Africana Studies and History at Brown University — for an interdisciplinary exploration of how the ideals of freedom, equality, and rights have been both written into law and lived out through the struggles of ordinary people. The New Orleans Book Festival brings the world’s leading authors to Tulane University for a multi-day celebration of their works. The Festival features both fiction and non-fiction and convenes readings, panel discussions, symposia and keynote speeches. It provides an opportunity for outlets, authors and readers to interact with each other in one of the most vibrant and culturally diverse cities in the world.
